The Orton effect can add a very dreamy look
to your image and is a great companion filter to tone mapped HDR images.
Artizen's implementation of Orton has 10 different options that can
allow users to customize their results. This level of flexibility allows
for the most extreme to very subtle Orton results. Below we used a
panoramic tone mapped HDR photo as an example.

Mode = There are 5 different blending modes Screen, Multiply,
Overlay, Additive and Subtractive, each producing a unique result.
Brightness = This option is used to control the brightness of the
effect. To produce the standard Orton effect the default value of 0
doesn't need to be changed. Range (-100 to 100)
Contrast = This value controls the contrast value of the effect.
Using the option helps enhance or reduce the bright and dark aspects of
the effect. Range (-255 to 255)
Hue = This option allows users to adjust the overall Hue of the
filter. It is a simple way of adding a unique twist to your image as shown
below. Range (0 to 360)

Saturation = This option adjusts the saturation of the filter.
Using this in conjunction with the Hue option can make truly eye catching
results. Range (-100 to 100)
Opacity = Since the Orton operation is based on layer
technology, the Opacity controls how of the layer is applied. Depending
on how much of the effect you want to apply will be determine by this
value. Range (0 to 100%)
X - Y Radius = The Orton filters relies on using a Gaussian blur
operation. To add an additional effect to the Orton filter, the Gaussian
blur has been separated into X and Y values to give lens blooming
effects. Range (0 to 256)
Sharpness = The Orton effect naturally softens an image. To
restore some of the image fine detail, this option can be used. Range
(0 to 10)
